The Joe Andruzzi Foundation, providing help, hope, and a reason to smile for New England cancer patients and their families by providing financial support when it is needed most, hosted its 16th Annual Joe Andruzzi & Friends Golf Tournament on Monday, June 10th at Black Rock Country Club in Hingham, Massachusetts. The event raised more than $350,000 to help those in need.
Several players and alumni from the New England Patriots attended, including Ivan Fears, Russ Hochstein, Patrick Pass, and Matt Patricia, as well as former NFL quarterback and ESPN analyst Matt Hasselbeck. Additional celebrities will include Jared Haibon (ABC’s “The Bachelor”), actor Kevin Chapman, and WEEI Sports Radio Network’s Nick “Fitzy” Stevens, who closed out the event with a “Roast of Joe Andruzzi”.
“There’s nothing sweeter than celebrating our 16th anniversary on such a beautiful day while raising money to help cancer patients and their families throughout New England,” said Joe Andruzzi, Co-Founder and Chief Engagement Officer. “Through the generous donations from our presenting sponsor, Apotho Therapeutics/Frankie’s International Bistro, as well as our dedicated partners, wonderful guests and players, we raised more than $350,000 which will provide financial assistance to help with household bills, groceries, transportation and more, allowing those in treatment to focus on what really matters, feeling better.”
The Joe Andruzzi Foundation helps New Englanders battling cancer through a variety of grants including Household Assistance, Extraordinary Needs, Food Security Assistance, Transportation Assistance, (Up)Beat Opportunities and additional resources.
Since its start, the Foundation has granted over $10 million to more than 40,000 cancer patients across New England to help ease the pressure of household expenses, food, transportation, extraordinary needs, and wellness resources while undergoing treatment. In 2023 alone, JAF distributed more than $1.3 million in direct assistance to help patients and their families throughout New England. In May, JAF celebrated its $1 million milestone in food security grants.
“A big thank you to our generous donors and sponsors who help us to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those who are facing difficult circumstances,” said Jen Andruzzi, President &CEO. “While I wish the need was decreasing, it is quite the opposite and the Foundation is committed to helping as many patients and their families as possible.”
