The annual Hingham High School National Honor Society Candlelight Induction Ceremony took place Tuesday night if front of a full auditorium of family members. It is the first time in over 2 years that an audience was allowed at the ceremony.
The ceremony recognized 119 existing members of the Class of 2022 and 107 new members of the Class of 2023. Every year, a faculty member is chosen to be the guest speaker during the event. This year, outgoing assistant principal Jennifer Henriksen was selected to speak. Henriksen will be retiring at the end of this school year after 25 years of service in the district.
After the new members were recognized, they lit their ceremonial candles and recited the National Honor Society pledge. The evening concluded with the announcement of the new board - Olivia Halle (president), Sherry Sze (vice-president), Grace Desai (secretary), and Caroline Schiffman (treasurer).
