Inly School is excited to announce the installation of a 40-ft. climbing tower on their campus in Scituate. Positioned on Inly’s Sunflower Hill, at the top of Watch Hill Drive, the 40-ft. tower is now the highest point in Scituate. It features three rappelling walls of varying difficulty and a platform at the top, offering a beautiful view of Scituate Harbor as a reward for completing the climb.
Designed and built by High 5 Adventure of Vermont, the climbing tower was donated to Inly School by Mike and Maureen Sheehan in gratitude for the positive experience their children, Catherine (Class of 2020) and Michael (Class of 2023), enjoyed from Toddler House through Middle School.
The 40-ft. tower will integrate with Inly’s low ropes courses and stand-alone elements to become a full-scale outdoor education experience that supports the development of confidence, creativity, self-discipline, and problem-solving skills.
In addition, Inly hopes that businesses and the surrounding community will take advantage of the tower’s use through rentals and adventure programs.
“Outside groups wishing to partake in team building exercises are welcome to contact Inly for programming opportunities utilizing the tower and our low-challenge course elements,” says Kate Vizen, Director of Auxiliary Programs. “We’re especially excited about partnering with surrounding schools to offer team-building and educational outings on our adventure course.”
See for yourself on Outdoor Adventures Day!
Inly invites families with children age 6+ to experience the tower at Outdoor Adventures Day on Sunday, May 7th from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Free and open to the public, this fun outdoor event is especially geared for ages 6+, but the whole family is welcome!
Attendees can challenge themselves on Inly’s low ropes course, run an obstacle course, slide down a giant slide, walk the Discovery Trail, and climb the 40 ft. tower. There will also be food trucks, crafts, and games for all to enjoy.
In addition, Summer at Inly is offering a variety of week-long “Adventures Abound” camps for 4th–6th and 7th–9th grades throughout the summer. Campers will venture out on Inly’s challenge courses, working their way up to climb the different sides of the 40-ft. tower for an exciting week that will challenge them while building confidence and trust.
