The 7th Graders remain undefeated by drubbing Quincy 25-0. This game featured a fifth shutout, longest TD of the season, another 100 yard rushing game by Evan Tomasello, two TD passes by Hudson Garrity and a 6th consecutive game with Shamus Devine catching a touchdown pass. The Raiders stingy defense held their opponents to one touchdown so far this season and that did not change on Sunday. Hingham anticipated a hard-hitting physical game as the offensive line of Frank Cavagnaro, Denny Costello, John Peterson, Will Berkeley and Duncan Wilder created a secure pocket for (QB) Hudson Garrity to throw an 18 yard pass to Evan Tomasello who stiff armed his way to the 28 yard line. (QB) Garrity then found a sprinting Brayden Huber in the back of the end zone for a touchdown pass on the opening drive for a 6-0 lead. Matching the offense’s fast start (LB) Johnny Heller, Daniel Lovendale and (CB) Jack Hart made key tackles. Shamus Devine had a big game on both sides of the ball that began when he stripped the ball from the Quincy runner and recovered the fumble at midfield. But the Quincy defense held strong and forced the Raiders to punt.

The Raiders kept bringing the pressure as Cavagnaro and Andy Gerlach made tackles for a loss that was followed up by Denny Costello punching the ball loose from the running backs arms which safety Hudson Garrity recovered. One play later (QB) Garrity followed a block from Ryan Crespi and connected with his trusty receiver Shamus Devine for a 52 yard gain setting up a first and goal at the 3 yard line. On a QB keeper, Garrity ran behind blocks from Will Berkeley and John Peterson for the touchdown to go up 12-0. Riding the momentum Heller, Cavagnaro and Cam Forger made tackles to force a 4th down. After a Quincy first down, Andy Gerlach forced a fumble that Quincy recovered and Huber and Hart broke up a pass forcing a 3rd and long. The Quincy QB thought he had a wide open receiver in the end zone but the speedy Garrity closed the gap and made a finger tip interception preventing a sure touchdown and a 12-0 lead at halftime.

In the second half the Raiders put on a defensive clinic with Shamus Devine tipping a pass at the line, Huber and Tomasello making big tackles for no gain and Cam Forger pressuring the QB which allowed Johnny Heller to break up a pass and force a punt. Backed up to his own goal line, QB Garrity, as poised as ever threw a sideline pass to Shamus Devine who split the defenders and ran untouched 98 yards for the Raiders longest touchdown of the season and a 18-0 lead. Starting the 4th quarter the offensive controlled the ball and the clock as linemen Will Heatherington, Chris Donegan, Will Taylor, Wes Govini, Mason Devine and Mickey Syp allowed (RB)’s Emmett McCarthy and Andrew Nolan to run for first down. Looking to put the game away and secure the shutout, (QB) Garrity handed off to (RB) Evan Tomasello who he darted outside a block from Duncan Wilder and outran every would be tackler for a 68 yard touchdown. On the extra point Grant Riordan hiked the ball to Neil Deininger who powered his way into the end zone for the 25-0 victory.
