Slow start didn't Stop Hingham from playoff win & Coaching Milestone.

The 5th seed Harborwomen (17-3) took on the 13th seed Tigers of O'Bryant HS (12-8) on Wednesday night in the opening round of the D2 South MIAA Tournament.

Senior Captain Ryley Blasetti looks to get Hingham going in the 1st period. Whether it was rust, nerves, or good Tiger's defense, the Harborwomen got off to a slower than normal start missing some open baskets and allowing O'Bryant to keep it close.

Senior Captain Jess Johnson led the team in scoring in the 1st period with 4 points. Hingham led 12-9 heading into the 2nd period.

Senior Captain, and Patriot League Keenan Division MVP, Grace Bennis started off slow as well with only 5 points in the 1st half, but picked up when they needed in the second half, finishing with a team high 15 points.

Sophomore Caroline Connelly made her presence felt the whole game. She was active under the basket, moved well without the ball, and scored when Hingham needed it.

The Harborwomen started to pull away in the second quarter thanks in a large part to Ryley Blasetti, who scored half of the team's 14 second quarter points. She scored 2 of those points here on a breakaway after stealing the ball.

Connelly grabbing one of her game high 12 rebounds early in the 3rd quarter. Earlier this week, she was named one of 3 Harborwomen All-Stars, along with Ryley Blasetti and Sophomore Perry Blasetti.

Perry Blasetti looking to add to the Harborwomen's lead in the 4th with an easy layup, but was fouled pretty hard on the way up. She made both free throws.

Junior Abbey Foley came in off the bench and continued to fight hard to the final buzzer. She finished with 3 points.

Senior Haley Platt lays in the final 2 points giving Hingham the 55-26 win over O'Bryant. In the end, 9 Harborwomen scored in the game making it a total team win. This win was also the 100th career win for Head Coach Eugene Buczynski. Congrats Coach! Their next game will be against Falmouth in the Quarter Finals on Friday, 2/28 at 6:30pm at Hingham High.
