As we enter the second half of 2020, the Hingham Anchor is excited to launch a new offering to make it even easier to get your local news and community updates – the Hingham Anchor App. The new mobile app, available now for iOS users in the Apple App store, features the same articles that fans enjoy reading on the Hingham Anchor website but with the added convenience of content being one click away on your phone or tablet.
"When we started the Anchor, our goal was always to deliver free news to locals in a digital medium that allows for readers to consume information in the way that is most convenient for them," shared Hilary Jenison and Laura Winters, co-founders of The Hingham Anchor. "With over 75% of our page views originating from mobile devices, the mobile app was the most logical step in our constant effort to continue to improve the user experience."
Readers who download the mobile app can opt-in to receive push notifications on their phone, providing immediate access to all local updates, including election news, local development updates, education updates, sports content, and more.
“The best feature about the new app is the ability to receive push notifications,” shared Joshua Ross, Anchor Sports Editor, and partner who helped develop the technology. “There is no easier way to stay up to date on local happenings than the Hingham Anchor mobile app.”
