When Caitlin Levin, kindness & community editor for Clandestine Kitchen (CK), heard that Magical Moon Farm desperately needed donations to keep the farm and foundation alive and well during these times of crisis and uncertainty, the only option was to rally the troops and take action.
On Friday, August 14th, Clandestine Kitchen, together with Ralphs Hingham Wine Merchant, Aldous Collins, and Everybody Water, raised over $4800 in monetary and in-kind donations during a special pre-order ‘pop up’ to support Magical Moon. The pop up included myriad popular snacks and light healthy meals from CK and 6 bottles of organic wine from Ralphs Hingham Wine Merchant.
Clandestine Kitchen successfully donated $3,000 (as well as additional resources, time and product) and Kim & Ralph Hersom added an additional $1000 (product and cash donation) to this very special endeavor. Aldous Collins donated his new ‘One Love’ trucker hats to each order and Everybody Water included several cartons of ‘water with a heart’ proving that, true to their mission, it really does ‘begin with everybody’.
In addition, CK provided several additional opportunities for clients and community members to donate via smaller ‘pop up’ deliveries during the week and by accepting donations from those outside of their home meal delivery area.
When CK owner, Courtney Doyle, presented Magical Moon Farm & Magical Moon Foundation founder, Donna Green, with the cash donation from CK (and the collective donation as a whole), she was incredibly surprised and delighted, stating ‘this could not have come at a better time’.
‘We are incredibly grateful to our clients and community for supporting CK and even more humbled and awestruck at the outpouring of support towards our efforts to give back to organizations that need it most. It is heartwarming and inspiring to see that, even in times of crisis and uncertainty, we can come together to make a difference. Our community partners, like Ralph and Kim (Hersom) and Aldous (Collins), are the cornerstone to collectively turning ambition and love into action. ’ says Doyle.
Magical Moon Farm in Marshfield is a haven built “to nurture and empower children with cancer and other life-threatening conditions.” Situated on a 5 acre parcel of land that used to be a dairy farm, Magical Moon is a sanctuary for children and their families who needed physical as well as spiritual and emotional healing.
CK and Ralphs Hingham Wine Merchant would like to thank everyone that contributed to this magical and extremely important effort. If you would like to support the Magical Moon Farm and Magical Moon Foundation, please visit them online at www.magicalmoon.org and select ‘Support’ from the menu.
