Foster School Principal Beth Wilcox announced her resignation in an email to Foster School families this morning (July 2). She was named interim assistant superintendent for the Duxbury Public Schools during a remote DPS School Committee meeting today.
During that same remote meeting, it was announced that former East School Principal Anthony Keady has been hired as the new DPS human resources director and that he will be stepping into that role next week.
Wilcox stated in her email that "for the past three years, I have felt fortunate and honored to work with wonderful students, staff members, and families. The Foster community is special, one that I will miss."
Over the next few weeks, Wilcox will be "working to help make the transition as smooth as possible. I thank you for all your support during my time at Foster," the email stated.
Current DPS Asst. Supt. Dr. Danielle E. Klingaman announced today during their School Committee meeting that Wilcox would be working under a one-year contract and that she was impressed with Wilcox's professionalism and leadership skills. "[Beth Wilcox] is a proven leader, able to step in and collaborate on the planning work necessary for the upcoming school year, especially as it relates to post-pandemic learning," Klingaman said.
A voicemail message by Keady on his East School phone line indicated that he is "no longer employed by the HPS, so if you need assistance, please call the Central Office."
Hingham Supt. of Schools Paul Austin resigned last week, effective July 30.
Watch for updates as they become available.
