It’s St. Patrick’s Day weekend and there are plenty of ways to celebrate locally whether you have Irish roots or not. So check out the events below and go get your green on to spread the Luck O’ the Irish all around the 02043.
The Range will have live Irish Step Dancing from 2:30-4:30 on Saturday, March 16th as well as boiled dinner, beef stew and Irish drink specials on both Saturday, March 16 and Sunday, March 17th.
The Snug will have live music by Chuck Whelan on Saturday, March 16th at 9:30pm and will feature live traditional Irish music all day Sunday, March 17th. Both days will feature traditional corned beef and cabbage boiled dinner special.
Stars on Hingham Harbor will have live music on Sunday, March 17th from 3:00-7:00 and will feature a boiled dinner special, Guinness on draft as well as Irish breakfast specials!
Alma Nove – On Sunday, March 17th Alma Nove will have live music from 2:30-5:30 and a traditional corned beef boiled dinner.
Hingham Community Center Family Celebration of St. Patrick’s Day – On Sunday, March 17th from 1:00 – 3:00 the Hingham Community Center is hosting a family St. Patrick’s Day event featuring Fairy house building, Irish Step Dancing, Face Painting, live traditional Irish music, Irish Treats and themed arts & crafts. $8 per person entry fee.
Scituate St. Patrick’s Day Parade – Okay, okay it crosses town lines, but hey every once in a while we leave the 02043! Just down the road, the Irish Riviera of Scituate hosts over 15,000 people annually for their Scituate St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The time-honored tradition is fun for all ages. The parade begins at Scituate’s Gates Middle School at 1:00 pm on Parish Road, it then proceeds down First Parish Road to Front Street, Scituate Harbor. Then turning right onto Jericho Road, ending at Town Pier parking lot next to Pier 44 Restaurant. The entire route is approximately 2.3 miles long.
Many local restaurants are also featuring Irish themed specials today and tomorrow including The Cracker Barrel, Crow’s Landing, Bloomy Rind (today only) and Boathouse Bistro.
