Rachel Meyers, owner of local co-working space, The Collective Co. (Scituate, MA), and Courtney Doyle, owner of local healthy home meal delivery company, Clandestine Kitchen (South Shore, MA), are teaming up to launch a 10-part podcast series titled “Women In Food”, providing an insider’s look into the intricacies of the local food industry from a woman’s point of view.
Guests include local business owners, restaurant owners, chefs, and nutrition-based professionals all intimately involved in food from farm, to table, to preparation and appreciation. Local products and seasonal ingredients are highlighted and each guest provides their own unique connection to the world of food and food service.
Kate Papaleoni, owner of Kate’s Table (Hingham), discusses her early days learning from acclaimed chefs in the restaurant industry from Nantucket to Boston, and how it helped launch the vision of her local bespoke full service catering and events company she owns and operates today.
Chef Alison Hearn, owner of local gourmet grocery home delivery company, Peggotty Provisions (Scituate, MA), passionately explains how to make seasonal, local produce shine in simple ways while focusing on the importance of sourcing the best local ingredients you can find.
Other guests include acclaimed local chef and restaurateur, Annemarie Stenfors, FDN-P nutrition professional Tina Haupert of the popular “Carrots n Cake” online resource and blog, Melissa Smith, owner of The HALE locally-made organic bone broth, and several other local prominent health, wellness and food industry leaders.
Spark Business Consulting owner, Kasey Anton, discusses how her background in restaurant ownership and management plays a critical part in her current advisory role to small business owners and restaurateurs and how her upcoming new book, Profit First for Restaurants, provides a framework for success in the food industry.
The Collective Co. podcast, started by Meyers in 2020, provides a weekly glimpse into the lives of local female business owners and entrepreneurs. Meyers created this platform as a way to help her members and other community leaders share their stories and motivate others to follow their dreams and goals. The collaboration with Doyle to create the “Women In Food” series of this educational and inspirational project takes food to a whole new level of appreciation and understanding by delving deeper into the food scene with each guest.
“Being able to dive into these niche local markets and explore how women are making waves in their communities is such an incredible story to tell and share with others. I am so thrilled that Courtney has gathered these influential voices in the food industry to collaborate with us and use this platform to inspire other women,” says Meyers.
The CC + CK “Women In Food” podcast series is set to launch on Monday, February 21, 2022 featuring Doyle as the first podcast to introduce the series.
