The search process for permanent principals for the Foster and East elementary schools is progressing.

"We received 14 applications for the Foster opening by the deadline, and of those, eight have been selected for initial interviews with the screening committee -- scheduled for March 1 to 3," Asst. Supt. of Schools Jamie LaBillois reported to the School Committee Monday night.

The semi-finalists will be identified by the end of this week, with further interviews that will include new Supt. of Schools Dr. Margaret Adams and the Central Office team.
The final candidate will be announced by the end of April," LaBillois said.

School Committee Chair Kerry Ni said she is impressed by the resumes that have been received so far.

Applications for the East School principal position will be accepted until March 7. "The screening team will rate the pool of initial applicants, and they will be interviewed [later in March]," according to LaBillois.
