Jane E. (Bargende) Belyea, of Hingham, died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, June 3, 2022, at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. She was 72.
Born in Quincy on January 13, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Alfred A. and Mary E. (Nugent) Bargende. Jane was raised in Hingham, attended local schools, and graduated from Hingham High School. She later attended Curry College, where she earned her undergraduate degree, and Labouré College of Healthcare. Jane was a registered nurse for many South Shore nursing homes, and was respected for the quality of care she provided. She retired in 2020 after 35 years of service.
When Jane wasn’t working as a devoted nurse, wife and mother, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, cooking, watching movies, traveling, shopping and being the most fashionable person in the room.
Jane was the beloved wife of Thomas E. Belyea, with whom she shared 41 loving years. She was the devoted mother of Sarah Daniels of New Hampshire, Ryan Daniels and his wife Shaobei of Braintree, and Emily Belyea and her husband Kyle Berry of Colorado. Jane was the loving grandmother of Jenai Daniels of Braintree and Thomas Berry of Colorado. She was the dear sister of Peter Bargende and his wife Sun of Wellesley and Andrew Bargende and his wife Patricia of Hingham. Jane is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during visiting hours on Friday, June 10, 2022, 4-8 PM at the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), Hingham.
Her funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at 10 AM in South Shore Baptist Church, 578 Main St., Hingham. Interment will be private. Directly following the service, there will be a lunch reception at the Moose Lodge in Braintree.
