During an in-person School Committee meeting on Tuesday, June 21, the new strategic plan for the Hingham Public Schools will be presented.
Town Meeting voters approved $50,000 in the Fiscal 2022 HPS operating budget for strategic planning, with the purpose of setting overall district goals for the next five years and developing a plan to achieve those goals.
Input was sought from alumni, students, staff, faculty members, parents, residents, and others interested in sharing their ideas about what the plan should include -- such as identifying strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities -- through stakeholder sessions and a districtwide survey.
School Committee Chair Michelle Ayer shared her thoughts about the process with the Hingham Anchor.
"We are so grateful for the time commitment of the many stakeholders -- parents, students, faculty, staff, and district leadership -- who shared their unique perspectives to help in the development of a comprehensive strategic plan for the Hingham Public Schools," she said. "The School Committee is eager to hear and review the presentation at our June 21 meeting and to share the report with the community."
