Actors and even live animals will take part in a live nativity hosted by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Hingham on Saturday December 10, 2022. Participants will stroll through four vignettes that tell the story of the birth of Jesus Christ.
The Church’s exterior will be transformed into various stages for the live actors and choir to present the story of the Nativity. The event is free and open to the public. No reservations are required. Complimentary cookies and hot chocolate will be provided to all guests.
“We are excited to be able to offer a special way for our community to celebrate the Christmas season,” said Brian Beitler, Bishop for the Hingham Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. “This is the third year that our congregation has organized this experience for the community. When the pandemic hit several years ago our church members saw that social distancing requirements would make an annual Christmas party impossible so we felt inspired to make a change and do something for the community instead. We wanted to share the hope that comes from the story of Christ’s birth. We hope this experience will give local families and individuals the opportunity to feel the spirit of the season, which is something we all need in this day and age.”
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is located at 379 Gardner Street in Hingham. The Live Nativity will take place at the chapel on Saturday, December 10, 2022 from 6-8pm. There is no rain date, it will occur rain or shine.
