On Saturday, May 4th the 6th annual Pony Up for a Cause event was held at the South Shore Country Club.  Despite the dramatic finish and outcome of the Derby itself, a fantastic time was had by all attendees.  More than 240 people came dressed to impress raising $11,000 for the Breast Cancer Center at South Shore Hospital.   The 2019 Pony Up for a Cause committee was comprised of Christine Smith, Patty McDonald, Alyssa Scordo, Hilary Jenison,  Sarah Melia, and Lois Blowers.

There were many vendors involved to make the event a smashing success, including: Raffael's at the South Shore Country Club, Trader Joe's, Eric Dresser Media, Scott Rowell of Innovative Print Solutions, Four Bridges Band, DJ Richard, and event photographer - Maryellen Jones Photography - who very generously donated her time for the cause.

The competition was tough but in the end three residents from Scituate took home the prize for Best Dressed Male, Best Dressed Female and Best Hat.

Additionally, many local organizations generously provided items for the silent auction and raffles, including: Drohan Tocchio & Morgan, South Shore Country Club, A. Kearney Architecture,  Dar Collins, Furnace Brook Country Club, Steve White, Crow’s Landing, Glove Up, Crow Point Pizzeria, Salon Nouveau, Nails Flair, Blue Marin Home, Dan Morrison, The Pink Frame, Texture & Gloss, Riva, Irish Eyes Photography,  Best Chevrolet, The Cracker Barrel, The Fruit Center, and Board 143.

If you missed the event this year, make sure to mark your calendars for next year – May 2, 2020!
