A driver was arrested for operating to endanger after being stopped for allegedly driving over 100 mph on Lincoln St. (Route 3A) Tuesday. This is the same street where a fatal crash took place two days earlier in which speed was a contributing factor.
On February 7, 2023 at 1:41am Traffic Officer Michael Dunlea was monitoring traffic on Lincoln St. (Route 3A) when a car approached him headed eastbound at a high rate of speed. He used his dash mounted radar to verify the speed was 104 mph. He then used a hand held radar unit and the speed was 101 mph as it began to brake. The posted speed limit is 40 mph.
The Officer turned on his emergency lights and the car braked so hard the Officer thought it was going to drive into a traffic pole. The car stopped without hitting the pole on Lincoln St. at Sgt. William B. Terry Dr. The abrupt stopping from the high speed caused the driver’s cell phone to automatically alert 9-1-1 that he was in a crash. During the traffic stop, a 9-1-1 dispatcher called the driver to ask if he had been in a crash.
Arrested was Kesarjo Nebiaj, age 28, of 200 Cove Way, Apt. #1002, Quincy, MA. He was charged with 1) Operating to Endanger 2) Speeding 3) No License in Possession. He was booked and held on $1,500 cash bail at the Hingham Police station until his arraignment at Hingham District Court that morning.
