Thirty four students working at Linden Ponds, an Erickson Living developed and managed retirement community in Hingham, MA, from 16 different schools along the South Shore are participating in the annual Student Scholarship Week to raise money for the Linden Ponds Student Scholarship Fund.

“Thirty four students are eligible for the scholarship this year,” said Mairi Bleakie, Philanthropy Manager, Linden Ponds. “Since 2004, the Linden Ponds Student Scholarship Fund has awarded over $1 million in financial aid to hundreds of student workers to support their pursuit of higher education.  It’s a wonderful benefit for students working at Linden Ponds and this is one of our largest group of students receiving the scholarship.”

The Linden Ponds Scholarship Fund is for student employees who plan to attend a college or accredited trade school beginning fall 2019. The students need to have worked at Linden Ponds during their junior and senior year and put in 900 hours of work. Those students will receive a total of $6,000 over four years of college. The money will be dispersed directly to their schools, $1500 for a total of 4 years.

Events this year included a Spelling Bee, Bingo and a Fashion Show.

“We always hope to raise money by donations, not ticket sales,” said Bleakie.  “The students work hard to make this week come together and the residents love coming to all of the events.”
