Following a slow season, the in-person Town Election will take place on Saturday, April 29, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The Vote by Mail application deadline is Monday, April 24, but the Town Clerk’s Office strongly encourages applications to be submitted in advance of that deadline so as to ensure timely delivery by the United States Post Office. There is no in-person early voting option available.

The election will feature one race — for the Planning Board seat currently occupied by Judith Sneath, who is not running for another term — between Thomas Patch and Tracy Shriver.
There will also be a ballot question related to the proposed $7.9 million override.  Passage of the override is contingent on a positive majority vote at both the April 24 Town Meeting and at the Town Election.
Go to https://www.hingham-ma.gov/957/Precincts-Voting-Locations for election precinct information and a map.

Voting locations are as follows:

  • Precincts 1-4 — Hingham High School, 17 Union St.
  • Precincts 5-7 — Hingham Middle School, 1103 Main St.
  • Precinct 7A — Willard Square, Linden Ponds, 201 Linden Ponds Way

Here’s the election lineup:

  • Select Board (3-year term): William Ramsey, candidate for re-election
  • Board of Assessors (3-year term): Randall Winters, candidate for re-election
