This week’s Athlete of the Week presented by College Hype couldn’t have ended her regular season any better than she did. Hingham girls lacrosse junior Madeline Packard finished the season on Wednesday with 3 goals and an assist. This gave her an amazing 65 goals and 9 assists on the season and she reached the 100 point total for her career. Additionally, it was her 16th game in a row scoring at least one goal and 19/20 games this season she had a goal.
“Madeline has been the heart and soul of our team this season.” says head coach Carla Farkes. “She is a true competitor and never backs down. Madeline raises the bar for teammates day in and day out. She has exploded for 74 points this season, nearly tripling her offensive production from a season ago”
Madeline not only has impressed her coaches this season, but also her teammates, including senior captain Lily Ehler.
“Madeline is the type of player that is always making a difference on every inch of the field,” Ehler explains. “Not just because she is a midfielder but because she is always working to be her best and cheer on her teammates even on the sidelines. Reaching this milestone as a junior truly demonstrates her level of effort, skill, passion and love for the sport of lacrosse – she is truly an impact player. Everyday, Madeline shows up for practice and sets a positive tone for the team and we could not be more proud of her and everything she does for Hingham Girls Lacrosse!”
Madeline and the rest of the Harborwomen kick of their state tournament journey later this week when they face Algonquin at home with a date and time TBD.
Congrats Madeline!
