Ten Hingham students win awards in South Shore Conservatory Piano Competition

South Shore Conservatory (SSC) congratulates ten Hingham piano students for having taken home awards in SSC’s recent Piano Solo Competition. Owen Goobic, Millie Zhou, Samuel Hurkchand, Kaia Correia, Violet Phan, Leighton Sabattis, Kevin Bellan, Charlie Inglis, Jacob Lewack, and Grace Chen all won awards, with Jacob being named overall winner and recipient of the Larence H. Smith Award for Outstanding Piano Solo Performance.

Owen Goobic

In the eight and under age division, piano student Owen Goobic, student of SSC piano instructor HuiMin Wang won first place, Millie Zhou, student of Maral Annaovezova won second place, and Samuel Hurkchand, student of Maral Annaovezova won Honorable Mention.

Kaia Correia

In the nine to ten age division, piano student Kaia Correia, student of SSC piano instructor Maral Annaovezova tied for third place along with Violet Phan, student of Bahar Soyoz. Leighton Sabattis, student Maral Annaovezova won Honorable Mention.

In the 11-12 age division, piano student Kevin Bellan, student of HuiMin Wang, won second place. Charlie Inglis, student of Alexander Morollo, won Honorable Mention.

In the 13-14 age division, piano student Jacob Lewack, who was named overall winner, took first place. He is a student of HuiMin Wang.  Grace Chen, also a student of Wang, took third place.
