Two men are being sought following an attempted theft at the Bank of America drive-up ATM at 95 Sgt. William B. Terry Dr. at 3:43 a.m. July 28. The ATM was damaged, but no cash was taken.

The suspects drove away in their white 2007 Cadillac Escalade as Hingham police officers arrived at the scene in response to a report from the alarm company.

According to the report, a chain attached to an SUV had been placed around the ATM. As the officers arrived, the men jumped into the SUV and drove onto Route 3A heading east. After a short pursuit, the SUV drove into the Bradley Park neighborhood and then drove behind a home on Bradley Park Drive, where they abandoned their vehicle and ran.

K9 units from the Weymouth Police Department and the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department helped search the area, but the men were not located.

“This is the third time this ATM has been broken into over the last three years,” Lt. Steven Dearth said in a press release issued by the Hingham Police Department. The incident remains under investigation.

Anyone with any information about this incident or the SUV is asked to contact Detective Michael Gervasi at (781) 804-2238.
