September 13, 2023 By Hilary Jenison

The stage is being set, the musicians are tuning their instruments, and the excitement is palpable as the 9th Annual Mad Love Music Festival (MLMF) gears up to take over Hingham’s South Shore Conservatory (SSC) on Sunday, October 8, 2023 from 11am-5pm. This beloved South Shore tradition is not just a music festival; it’s a celebration of community, a showcase of incredible talent, and a means to support the next generation of rockers. Tickets are now on sale here!

The Mad Love Music Festival has consistently delivered an unforgettable musical experience year after year, and 2023 is no exception. With an extraordinary lineup that promises to electrify the audience, this year’s festival is poised to be the best one yet. Among the headlining acts are Coral Moons, Chase Stebbins & The Only Known, Dalton & the Sheriffs, GA-20, and the Aldous Collins Band.  It will also be the debut performance by Sound Waves, the Dave Jodka Scholarship for Future Rockers band. From rock to blues, and everything in between, the diversity of musical genres ensures there’s something for every music enthusiast.

The festival was established in 2015 by the Jodka family as a way to celebrate Dave Jodka’s life and create a lasting legacy that would share his love of music with future generations. Dave’s untimely passing from cancer at the age of 44 spurred his family to channel their grief into a vibrant celebration of community and rock & roll.

Supporting Future Rockers
The festival not only honors the memory of Dave Jodka but also serves as a source of inspiration for future generations of musicians. One of the most significant aspects of the Mad Love Music Festival is its dedication to supporting young, aspiring musicians on the South Shore. Proceeds from the festival go towards supporting future rockers. The Dave Jodka Scholarship has been an honor for high school students, covering all expenses associated with performing in a band. Past recipients have gone on to pursue their passion for music at renowned institutions like Berklee College of Music and New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.

A Family-Friendly Festival
The Mad Love Music Festival is not just for music enthusiasts; it’s a family-friendly event that welcomes people of all ages. The festival grounds will feature a Beer Garden for adults looking to enjoy a cold brew, Food Trucks serving up delicious treats, and a Kids Zone brimming with activities to keep the little ones entertained throughout the day. It’s an event designed to create lasting memories for families and friends alike.
