Hingham Commission on Disabilities to Host Public Hearing on Americans with Disabilities Act Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan

The Town of Hingham is pleased to announce that the Hingham Commission on Disabilities is hosting a public hearing to discuss the town’s draft Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan.

Under Title II of the ADA, the Town of Hingham is required to complete a self-evaluation of the Town’s public facilities, programs, services, activities and events to determine compliance with the ADA and identify any barriers to accessibility.

The town launched this project with grant funding provided by the Massachusetts Office on Disability (MOD). The Town of Hingham also hired the Institute for Human Centered Design (IHCD) to assist with the self-evaluation process.

Community members are encouraged to attend the public hearing, provide feedback and ask questions.
