Hingham Youth Wrestling begins its 24th season of building confidence, strength, and skills for local youth athletes. Former Hingham High School wrestlers Ben Nastou and Nick Rocco and former Holliston-Medway High School wrestler Chris Papavasiliou have designed a program open to youth K-8 that underscores the importance of blending fun and sportsmanship.
Youth athletes will meet in the Hingham High School wrestling room where many successful athletes have trained before them and get direct instruction and coaching from seasoned veterans. Registration is open; the season starts on November 29. No experience necessary, open to all levels. For more information, click here.
Hingham Youth Wrestling owes much of its success to Coach Damien Bogle. Cultivated in the tradition of Pennsylvania wrestling, Damien is a decorated athlete who credits much of his success to his former coaches. Damien brought his laser focus, discipline, and artful collaboration skills to Hingham in 2006.
Coaches play an integral part in building perseverance, discipline, and confidence in youth athletes, and Damien spent 16 years building the youth program and creating a pipeline of success to higher-level wrestling and athletics. Countless youth athletes in Hingham credit Damien with developing their athletic abilities and helping them build life skills.
Four years ago, Damien teamed up with other local coaches to found Riptide Wrestling Club in Hanover. After 16 year-round seasons with Hingham, Damien moves to Riptide Wrestling Club full-time.
The wrestling and athletic communities in Hingham are grateful for Damien’s vision, commitment, and pursuit of excellence.
