Jean Brennan Healey

Jean B. (Brennan), age 92, entered into eternal life on December 15, 2023. Jean was born and raised in Dorchester. She graduated from Salem State College and worked for the Central Intelligence Agency in Washington D.C. for several years. Jean was devoted to the protection and nurturing of human life whenever and wherever she could help and intervene. Always a champion of the underdog, Jean volunteered with the United Farmworkers of California, Citizen Advocate of South Shore Association for Retarded Citizens, Founder and Director of Birthright of the South Shore, Co-Chair of The Peggy McCormack Chapter of Massachusetts Citizens For Life, Founder of the Friends of Braintree Military, honoring service members. An intrepid global traveler, Jean thirsted for knowledge, growth and faith. From Jerusalem to the Silk Road, Giant’s Causeway to the Hedgerows, across frontiers both foreign and domestic, Jean never stopped learning and teaching.

Devoted mother of Paul K. and his wife Esther of Hingham, Catherine MacWilliam and her husband Jerry of Pembroke, Janet Micalizzi and her husband Guy of Rockport, Lauren Sullivan and her husband Jeffrey of Hingham, Lawrence and his wife Terri of
Hingham, Margaret and her husband Joseph Kinnealey of Quincy, and Maurajane of Braintree. Predeceased by her loving brother, Donald Brennan of Columbus, Ohio, she is survived by her brother James Brennan of Hudson Ohio, and sister Patricia Babson of Columbus, Ohio. She was the treasured Grandmother, Gram and Gigi to numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at Saint Paul Church 147 North in Hingham on Tuesday, December 26 at 11:00 a.m. followed by burial in the Hingham Cemetery behind the Old Ship Church. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to the Society for the Propagation of the Faith, Massachusetts Citizens For Life, or The Pat Roche Hospice House Hingham.
