Jewett was pleased with the way the boys performed

“Excellent team performance coming off a very tough vacation week weather wise,” Jewett said.  “We are learning to compete as steam and support each other so each group takes on the responsibility of scoring points.”

Grils relay finished first in the 4×200.

The coach credited his captains and the team’s overall dedication for success.

“Our leadership continues to be our strength across the team,” Jewett said.  “AJ Barret is our multi-event scorer and everyone else competes in two events so we are strong across the board. Indoor is a tough season but Hingham kids really step up and  embrace the challenge.”

Jewett also praised the assistant coaches for their work, and encourages even more athletes to take up the sport.

“I’m very proud of our assistant coaches and their dedication to bringing out the best in each athlete,” he said. “We are all about mutual respect and support leading to a positive competitive winning culture. We had athletes achieve PR’s tonight that are two to three years in the making. That achievement coupled with strong academic performances opens many doors for our athletes.  We have many student athletes running track in colleges that they might not have gotten into without their track commitment. We encourage every athlete to join track and improve their chances for a future education and participation in track.”
