Sober in the Suburbs, started by Needham resident Kimberly Kearns, is hosting a free “Coffee Meetup South Shore”  in Hingham at Redeye Coffee Roasters, 3 Otis St., on Sat., Feb. 10, at 1 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

To sign up for this event, scan the QR code or go to https://www.ticketleap.events/tickets/sober-in-the-suburbs/free-coffee-meetup-south-shore.

In addition, Mom2Mom, a Hingham-based women’s support group for and by moms focused on ending the mental health stigma, is hosting Kearns on Monday, Feb. 12, at 12:30 p.m. at Krigsman Yoga, 25 Central St., in Hingham. This event is also free and open to the public.

Kearns is the author of the book, “On the Edge of Shattered: A Mother’s Experience of Discovering Freedom Through Sobriety,” the true story of a wife and mother’s descent into alcohol addiction —”a harrowing and sometimes heartbreaking chronicle of habitual blackouts and unremembered nights – and her triumphant emergence into the light of recovery.”

By taking readers through traumatic stories of her past, Kearns details the challenges she faced with alcohol from childhood through motherhood, ultimately finding herself on a journey of “joyful self-discovery.”
