April 4, 2024 by Hilary Jenison
The 9th Annual Pony Up for a Cause, Kentucky Derby Party is happening on Saturday, May 4th at the South Shore Country Club from 4:00-9:00pm. The annual, sell-out event celebrates the Kentucky Derby and raises money for a local cause each year. Event proceeds this year will benefit local Hingham non-profit The Lead Out Foundation.
The Lead Out Foundation was started by the Holleran Family. Dan and Mary Holleran live in Hingham with their two sons Liam and Timmy, both students at South Elementary School. The Lead Out Foundation is dedicated to empowering individuals and families who are affected by disabilities by fostering a more inclusive and supportive world. They provide local grants to make life more accessible for people with disabilities. Find out more about TLO here: https://www.tlofoundation.org.
Early-bird tickets are $75 per person through April 25th (last year this event sold out so don’t wait!). Tickets available here.
The Pony Up committee was founded by Hingham natives Hilary Jenison, Alyssa Scordo (now of Scituate), Sarah Melia and Lois Blowers seven years ago as a way to celebrate one of their favorite days of the year – the Kentucky Derby – while giving back to their community. They are very grateful to have Christine Smith and Patty McDonald Pony Up Committee members and expert party planners!
