Hingham Residents Participate in Cohasset Dramatic Club Summer Workshop of MEAN GIRLS High School Version July 25-28

July 24, 2024 By The Cohasset Dramatic Club

Cohasset Dramatic Club’s Teen/Young Adult Theatre Workshop presents the fiercely hilarious hit musical MEAN GIRLS High School Version at the South Shore Music Circus on July 25 and the Scituate Performing Arts Center on July 26-28. MEAN GIRLS High School Version is an adaptation of the 2004 film and 2018 Broadway hit written by Saturday Night Live Alum Tina Fey, with music by Jeff Richmond and Lyrics by Nell Benjamin.

MEAN GIRLS High School Version tells the story of the new girl at school, Cady Heron (Caitlin Conrad, Cohasset) who has been homeschooled her entire life while living in Africa with her parents. Cady soon runs headlong into The Plastics, a trio of mean girls, Regina George (Emily Crosta, Quincy), Gretchen (Bella Coe, Stoughton) and Karen (Halle Pratt, Cohasset), who rule this suburban Illinois school through intimidation, back-stabbing and bullying. When Cady finds herself caught between polar opposite worlds and friendships, she must choose between wanting to fit in or wanting to stay true to herself. A very funny and wildly popular show, featuring energetic music, big dance numbers and a large ensemble cast, MEAN GIRLS High School Version also explores important topics about unhealthy friendships, bullying and honesty.

MEAN GIRLS High School Version is on stage at the South Shore Music Circus on July 25 at 7:30pm, and the Scituate Performing Arts Center at Scituate High School on July 26 & 27 at 7:00pm, and July 28 at 2:00pm. Tickets are $25 and available online at https://www.cohassetdramaticclub.org/buy-tickets or available at the door prior to performances. MEAN GIRLS High School Version is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI) www.mtishows.com. For more information go to www.cohassetdramaticclub.org.
