Cohasset’s 143 Veterinary Services Wins Best Veterinarian of the South Shore

More than 342,000 votes were cast for local businesses and service professionals on the South Shore to recognize those at the top of their game. 143 Veterinary Services been named “Best Veterinarian” as part of the 2024 Best of the South Shore (BOSS) Awards. This accolade, presented by South Shore Home, Life & Style, recognizes the exceptional service and dedication provided by local businesses in the South Shore communities and is voted on by local patrons and residents.

South Shore Home, Life & Style is a premier luxury lifestyle magazine dedicated to celebrating the coastal communities of Massachusetts’ South Shore. The magazine showcases the best local businesses each year through the highly anticipated BOSS Awards. This year, the BOSS Awards recognized over 230 winners across many categories including food and drink, health and beauty, entertainment, kids, shopping, wedding, home and garden, and service professionals.  The voting ended on March 15, 2024, and winners were announced in the publications new summer issue.

“This is a huge honor,” said Dr. Diana Watkins owner of 143 Veterinary Services and Cohasset resident. “This type of recognition from our clients and our local communities during our first year of business is overwhelming, and we are beyond appreciative of the support.”

143 Veterinary Services, named after the beloved Minot Ledge Lighthouse which flashes 1-4-3 as a code for “I Love You,” was in its first year of business during the voting period, having opened its doors in March, 2023.  The state-of-the-art veterinary practice delivers high touch personalized care in a slow-paced family friendly atmosphere.

The veterinary clinic has become engrained in the local community since its opening.  143 Veterinary services hosted an official “ribbon chewing” event that was attended by state and local dignitaries including elected officials and police department leadership along with local animal shelters and the Cohasset Working Dog Foundation. Since, the veterinary clinic has hosted pet adoption events with local shelters, donated services for pets in severe need, supported local sports teams and theater events, participated in Hingham’s Fourth of July parade, and volunteered by hosting teddy bear vet clinics in local schools.

The winners will be recognized at the annual BOSS Bash event held in September.

Dr. Watkins graduated from Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University in 2010, where she served as the president of Tufts’ chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association. With over thirteen years of experience, including ten years locally on the South Shore, Dr. Watkins brings her expertise in surgery and compassionate individual care to the practice. A resident of Cohasset for the past decade, Dr. Watkins lives with her husband, three boys, and an ever-growing number of adored pets, including a miniature poodle, three cats, and a house rabbit.
