There are two Jane Austin’s, one an English novelist, the other an American writer. The American writer, born Mary Jane Goodwin married to an Austin wrote many stories based on her Pilgrim ancestors under the name Jane G. Austin and used the home at 597 Main Street in Hingham for the setting of a novel based on the life of Dr. Francis LeBaron as he moved from France to America. LeBaron was also known as the “Nameless Nobleman.” The book is in the reference section of the Plymouth Library. The photo is from a postcard printed by Thomson & Thomson of Boston.
