After starting the season 1-1-1, the girls soccer team has ripped off four wins in a row.

The rain did not stop Hingham as they propel themselves to a 4-1 win over Hanover. 1st half started out slow, both sides playing good defense and not shooting much. With 17:00 left in the half, Hanover was able to break away for a score, leading 1-0. Hingham instantly responded with a goal from Sophmore Hannah Lasch assisted by Senior Grace Maroney only a minute and a half later.  Off a corner kick, Sophomore Taylor Bello got on the board with a goal of her own, giving Hingham a 2-1 lead going into the half.

The second half was when the rain started to pour. The rain caused a slippery turf, making the game much more difficult. Even with this hardship, Bello was able to score her second goal of the game with 13:00 left in the second half. With the game now at 3-1, and the rain pouring, Hingham did their best to close out the game. With a few penalties, Junior Carolyn Downey found herself scoring off a penalty kick with 12:00 left in the second half. With the game now at 4-1, Hingham never let up and achieved their hard-earned victory over Hanover.

Even with a cast, sophomore Taylor Bello continues to dominate for the Harborwomen with two more goals in last week’s win vs Hanover.

With the tough weather, the team had to find ways to play through it. When asked how the team could still pull away in such a tough environment, Coach April Tremante stated how its all, “Mental toughness. They’re a strong group of girls and they do the simple things right and the outcome usually works in our favor.” Ultimately, a great win in tough weather for Hingham.
