Derby Street Shops announces bartaco’s arrival to the South Shore. Embodying the essence of a vibrant, healthy outdoor lifestyle, bartaco is a haven for fresh, upscale street food served in a welcoming, laid-back setting. Now open at Derby Street Shops, guests can indulge in bartaco’s signature specialties, including hand-crafted cocktails made with fresh-squeezed juices, a variety of shareable, hand-held dishes, and, the star of the menu, a diverse range of flavorful tacos. The spirited, bold and bright tastes of bartaco’s eclectic menu is complemented by a rustic, coastal-inspired design, creating a stylish yet easygoing ambiance, and a unique culinary experience new to the South Shore.
At bartaco, the food is a celebration of globally influenced flavors, focused on tacos and small plates, “not tacos,” all prepared with fresh, quality ingredients. The menu, like the relaxed environment, is designed to be light and easy for social gatherings. Diners can enjoy fan favorite items, including bartaco’s Glazed Pork Belly Taco with succulent pork topped with a sweet and spicy arbol chili glaze, and itsBaja Fish Taco, featuring spicy tempura-battered cod with chipotle slaw. bartaco’s drink menu showcases signature cocktails such as itsGreen Margarita, made with fresh-squeezed spinach, pineapple and mango juice, and spirit-free beverages, like its Grapefruit Ginger Agua Fresca and Pomegranate Limonada, both refreshing and bright with citrus zest, alongside bottled beer, sangria, and wine. A true neighborhood restaurant, bartaco also offers a special kids’ menu.
“The opening of bartaco in Hingham is particularly special for me. As a Massachusetts native with family in Marshfield, I’m thrilled to get to bring the bartaco experience to my friends, family and the community. This area has a rich community spirit, and bringing our vibrant bartaco experience here feels like we’re adding something meaningful to the local scene. I’m excited to offer an escape where people can come together, enjoy great food and drinks, and feel like they’re on vacation,” says Anthony Valletta, President of bartaco.
Upon entering bartaco at Derby Street, guests will be greeted by upbeat music, seaside themed artwork and design details, and the smell of fresh lime zest permeating the restaurant. In the warm weather months, the spacious U-shaped bar and folding glass walls open up, blending the indoors with the outdoors. The large coastal-inspired patio, surrounded by lush greenery and featuring canopy, hand-woven basket lights, heaters, and fans, provides a comfortable al fresco dining experience for bartaco’s guests. All artwork and photography were captured and painted by Sasa Mahr-Batuz, original founder of bartaco, with a few photographs from bartaco’s President Anthony Valletta, featuring favorite coastal New England destinations with his wife and young kids. Another local nod, is a blue-toned surfer and wave mural hand-painted by Massachusetts native muralist, Alex Gerasev.

bartaco is open for dine-in 11am-late, and will start offering takeout, delivery and catering later this month.
