Benjamin Louchheim has been deeply involved in teaching and coaching since his graduation from Dickinson College in 2006. With over a decade of experience teaching high school history and now instructing US History & Civics at Hingham Middle School, his passion for education has been evident throughout his career. His impressive background, which includes double Master’s degrees in Leadership and Administration as well as Education, combined with his years of coaching boys’ lacrosse and soccer, has allowed him to witness firsthand the challenges today’s students face.
“I’ve seen the busy schedules of modern students and student-athletes firsthand,” Louchheim shares. “The demands have changed drastically over the past 10-15 years. The rise of club sports, extracurriculars, and the constant presence of smartphones and social media have made life more complex for students. They face immense pressure, and at times, it’s overwhelming.”
This realization led him to establish Next Level Learning, a unique online tutoring program designed to help middle and high school students cope with these increasing pressures. As a teacher and coach, Louchheim understands how hard it is for young people to balance their academic workload with outside activities, especially when they lack the tools and strategies to manage their time effectively. Next Level Learning provides a supportive, focused space for students to strengthen their executive functioning skills, which include time management, task initiation, organization, and goal-setting.
A Model Tailored for Modern Challenges
What sets Next Level Learning apart is its design, which directly addresses the needs of the modern, busy student. “Many students I’ve taught and coached struggle not because they lack knowledge, but because they’re overwhelmed with distractions and expectations,” says Louchheim. He realized that many students don’t require traditional tutoring focused solely on subject matter but need help with the skills necessary to manage their workload.
Next Level Learning creates a monitored, online environment where students can work free from distractions, learn to manage their time, and develop independent study habits and provides an advisor to help and ask questions along the way. By attending up to three sessions a week, students build essential skills that translate into academic success.
Louchheim’s approach benefits students in two ways. First, it provides structured time and space for students to focus on their assignments, whether it’s homework, test prep, or long-term projects. Second, it helps them build habits that will serve them throughout their academic journey. “This isn’t about just getting through tonight’s homework,” Louchheim explains. “It’s about teaching students how to succeed independently in the long run.”
Affordable and Flexible Support
Affordability is another critical aspect of the Next Level Learning model. With pricing structures designed to accommodate different budgets, students from middle to high school can access support at reasonable rates. The small group format (a maximum of 15 students per session) ensures that each student receives personalized attention, while still benefiting from a collaborative, focused environment.
Students can choose from single sessions or commit to a full term, allowing them to regularly engage in a structured setting where they can consistently work towards their academic goals. Prices range from $11-$14 per session for those who purchase the full package for the school year, making it a cost-effective option for families.
Fostering Confidence and Independence
Beyond academic performance, Louchheim’s ultimate goal is to help students gain confidence in themselves as learners. By guiding students through goal-setting and progress monitoring, Next Level Learning equips them with the skills they need to tackle their schoolwork efficiently and with less stress.
“I hope this service empowers students to feel productive and prepared for the demands of their school day,” says Louchheim. “They’ll learn strategies to handle the pressures of being a modern student, and hopefully find a healthier balance in their lives.”
With years of experience in both education and coaching, Louchheim’s Next Level Learning is set to provide students with the tools they need to thrive. Whether they’re preparing for college or simply looking to maintain a strong GPA while juggling extracurricular activities, students will benefit from a supportive environment where they can grow academically and personally.
