Broad Cove Chorale & Unicorn Singers Present Latin Accents!

The photo is entitled “Unicorn Men in Military Practice for Evita,” and the men in the photo know that I’m sending it to you: they are, from left to right in the front row, Rich Jensen of Cohasset, Ed Bartholomew of Hingham, Will Boericke of Braintree; and from left to right in the back row, Stewart Wood of Hingham, Bill Reardon of Hingham, and Stephen Tooker of Scituate.

The Broad Cove Chorale and the Unicorn Singers, under the direction of Margo Euler of Hingham, will present Latin Accents on Sunday, October 27 at 4 pm. at the Inly School Arts Barn on Watch Hill Road in Scituate. Among those who will be performing are Hingham residents Tracy Allen, Kathleen Almand, Lynn Anderson, Ed Bartholomew, Betsy Clifford, Sally Davenport, Jo-An Heileman, Bill Reardon, Kathy Reardon, and Stewart Wood.

Each fall the group presents a pops-style gala that includes a variety of music ranging from jazz, close harmony, pop, and Broadway to classical.

This year’s gala features great music that that has traveled from or been inspired by America’s neighbors to her south. The program will transport you to concert halls in Spain and Argentina, to barrio streets in Mexico and Venezuela, to dance floors in Brazil, and finally, to the Broadway stage as a medley from Evita concludes the program. From lively folk songs to romantic serenades, from sultry tangos to lush bossa novas, the music will surround you with its passion and vitality.

Listeners are welcome to bring snacks and drinks to enjoy at table seating. Advance-sale tickets are $30 each and may be purchased by calling Kathy Reardon at 781-749-0162 or visiting bcc-us.org; tickets are $35 if purchased at the door. A table of five may be purchased for $125.
