Settles Glass site development — two residential units already sold!

Work on the once over-grown former Settles Glass site in downtown Hingham is progressing since the building was torn down this summer.

And while the building is still nowhere near final completion, two of the four residential units have already been sold. "Two remain!" said Matt Falconeiri of Falconeiri Construction -- the local builder/developer for the project.

"It's moving along nicely at 6 Station St., and we're pleased with the progress so far," he said. We're working  toward completing all of our concrete work before the frost arrives.

Wood framing of the structure will begin Nov. 4, which will bring more definition to the steel skeleton that exists today. This is all good news!"

The mixed-use development once completed will feature four spacious upscale condominium units -- two on each of the second and third floors -- and a single retail  space on the first floor. The occupant has not yet been announced, but Falconeiri confirmed that the commercial space is sold.

This project is a big step toward achieving the town's longtime desire to link Hingham Square and North Street businesses to the harborfront, which continues to undergo major improvements.

The targeted completion date is in the fall of 2020.

  1. Happy to see that eyesore gone. It’s a wonder that a beautiful town like Hingham let such a decrepit building sit there all these years. Oh well…looks like better times ahead for the property. Thankfully.
