Superintendent Dr. Margaret Adams

August 12, 2204 By Hingham Public Schools

This morning, Dr. Margaret Adams informed the School Committee of her decision to resign as Superintendent effective August 23, 2024.

We are incredibly grateful to Dr. Adams for her dedicated and tireless work on behalf of our students, staff, and families. Her leadership guided the district toward our collective mission of cultivating an equitable, inclusive, and innovative learning environment that supports the needs of all students. Dr. Adams’ accomplishments over the past two years are numerous, and include: significant progress implementing year one and two of the strategic plan; the development of effective district wide technology, professional development, and communication plans; a high quality equity audit; and an evaluation of special education. Dr. Adams is a highly skilled and qualified leader and we wish her the best in her future endeavors.

The School Committee recognizes the uncertainty this change in leadership may have on our community but please be assured that our schools are led and staffed by highly qualified, capable, talented, and caring individuals and their commitment to our students will not waver.

Dr. Adams has committed to assisting with a successful transition and the School Committee will meet August 14, 2024, to name an Acting Superintendent.
