It was a perfect early June day in the garden at Old Colony Montessori School. Among the verdant sprouts of garlic, potatoes, and milkweed hung spectacular works of art created by the students. Students and their families enjoyed strolling in the garden admiring the art and the beautiful day. The Art Show shared some of the projects that the students created throughout the year. Students explored creating animals, plants and even monsters using a wide variety of techniques and materials such as paints, pencils, crayons, and crepe paper. Using shapes such as circles and triangles the students created Plovers. Additionally, by utilizing different painting tools like cotton swabs, they created little dots to make beautiful Lilacs. The students also used their creativity and imaginations to design their own monsters, using different patterns and materials and creating a 3-D image that leapt from the paper. This was a terrific opportunity to use their knowledge of shapes and materials in an original project.

Fantastic job by the students and Art teacher, Jeff Menice.
