During a long season, it’s difficult to maintain a high level of performance week after week. This week’s Athlete of the Week presented by College Hype has done just that. Meet after meet, junior gymnist Sienna Besser competes at the highest level and makes a big impact for her team. This past week, in two meets, she finished first in the all-around competition for both meets, finished first in five of eight indivual events, including a new career high on beam.
“Sienna has consistently performed high level routines all season,” says head coach Alexandra Boyd. “She is Hingham/Hull’s go-to athlete to compete all-around. At Sunday’s meet she scored a 9.25 on beam, her highest beam score so far in high school. She hopes to qualify for the state individual competition on balance beam this year.”
Senior captain Liz Schembri agrees on how much important Sienna is for their team.
“Sienna competes all four events and is a huge asset to the team,” Schembri says. ” She will be competing all-around at our Patriot League meet this upcoming Friday and is looking to qualify for the state individual meet as well.”
Congrats Sienna and good luck at the Patriot League meet this Friday.
