We kick off the spring season with a great comeback story for this week’s Athlete of the Week presented by College Hype. After enduring most of last season with an injury, senior Rocco Egan kicked off Hingham lacrosse’s first week with quite a performance inside the face-off X. In the three games played last week, he was an amazing 31-1 in face-off wins. Something he has been doing for this team for four years.
“Rocco has been a force for us at the face-off X since day 1 his freshman year,” says head coach John Todd. “He battled with a season long injury last year but has rehabbed and is now healthy and to no one’s surprise has opened the season in dominating style showing why he is the top face-off guy in the state.”
While only on the field for a short amount of time, the position is one of the most important on the team as far as setting the tone according to senior captain Michael Garrity.
“Rocco has been consistently dominating the X for us in these first few games,” Garrity states. “He has allowed us to maintain offensive pressure and keep the overall momentum when we need it. Looking forward to some more big games from Rocco throughout the season.”
Congrats Rocco !
