There are no breaks for Hingham athletes. Many teams were competing last week including the girls lacrosse team. They were not only competing, but facing some pretty stiff competetion. This week’s Athlete of the Week presented by College Hype helped her team to two big wins against some hefty opponents. Senior captain Lily Samoska made some huge, timely saves in Hingham’s 10-9 win vs Medford on Wednesday and 15-8 win vs Longmeadow on Friday. Lily’s combined 15 saves set her team up to extend their win streak to four games dropping two in a row.
“The timing of the saves were more impressive than the number of saves,” said head coach Carla Farkes. “They came at critical moments throughout the games.”
Fellow senior captain Chase Boles explains how her impact is not just between the pipes.
“Lily is defintely our team’s anchor, expecially on defense,” Boles said. “She always knows how to keep our energy up and her hard work drives everyone else to give it their all and work together. She tops it all off with consistently great saves in net.”
Congrats Lily!
Congrats Lily. I see your Dad at Crossfit all the time and you are making him very proud! Good luck the rest of the season and at Amherst! Hoffy
