This week’s Athlete of the Week presented by College Hype is Nora Schulze. The senior captain of the girls volleyball team led her team to a convincing win on Wednesday vs Marshfield after their season opening loss to North Quincy on the Monday. In an early “must win” game, Nora stepped up and led by example on the court. The reigning Patriot League MVP showed why she is the frontrunner to capture that award again this year.
“Nora did a great job anchoring the front line,” says head coach Jordan Lay. “She really displayed her physicality and was a driving force for us. She’s contributing on all fronts and presents a real threat from the front and back row. We were especially pleased with her serving and defense as well. She’s on a mission this season and that shows day in and day out.”
Fellow senior captain Nina Palek attributes the Harborwomen’s bounce back to Nora’s play and leadership on the court.
“Nora had a huge impact on our team on Wednesday night and helped us to get an important win after Mondays loss,” Palek explains. “She attacked the ball well and was a vocal leader on the court. Her consistent level of play keeps us close to opposing teams. We are lucky to have her as a captain of the program.”
Nora and the rest of the Harborwomen are looking for the their second win in a row tonight at home vs Plymouth North.
Congrats Nora!
