Attention, Hingham Seniors: Watch out for misleading solicitations

It was brought to Hingham Director of Elder Services Jennifer Young's attention recently that Hingham seniors are receiving solicitations which appear to benefit "The Seniors Centers," with the name "HINGHAM" in bold type print at the top.

"These solicitations are not from or for the Hingham Senior Center," Young said. "They are for lobbying groups and are not tax-deductible."

"The lobbying organization is called 'Our Generation,' and 'The Seniors Center' is a program of their organization," Young said. "The form letters targeting our older residents are misleading and not endorsed by the Hingham Senior Center."
