The Beach House at the Bathing Beach offers spectacular views of Hingham Harbor while enjoying delicious beach food, salads, soft-serve, and other tasty menu items.
The opening of the snack shop on May 13th was a welcome sign of Spring.
The Beach House opened for the first time in 2020 to rave reviews. Fireking Baking Company owner Greg Acerra, who negotiated the lease with the town and designed the kitchen, said the 2022 season is off to a "great start."
"We're already busy and looking forward to a really good season," Acerra told the Hingham Anchor. "We had a good crowd the past couple of weekends."
The owners of Stars on Hingham Harbor, Tosca, Caffe Tosca, and Fireking -- which are all part of Eat Well, Inc. -- partnered to make the Beach House happen as part of the long-awaited completion of the new bathhouse/snack shop/community room building.
Starting this Friday, May 27, the Beach House will be open seven days a week for the season.
Among the popular menu items are Smash burgers -- including the Captain Bacon Burger, the Beach Burger, Lettuce Wrap Burger, Double Langlee Burger, and the Button Island Burger.
Customers also love the Street Corn Salad, the Watermelon Salad, and the new Smash Burger Bowl featuring a chopped double cheeseburger, mixed greens salad, baby tomatoes, and lime vinaigrette.
Other offerings to enjoy are the lobster rolls, clam chowder, fried shrimp plate, crunch chicken finger plate, barbecue chicken tacos, Beach House Fries, and fish-n-chips.
For dessert, try the vanilla, chocolate, vanilla/chocolate twist, lime froyo, raspberry sorbet, or raspberry/lime twist soft serve with rainbow or chocolate sprinkles or a brownie sundae, banana split, a shake, or a blended Cyclone.
The hard ice cream has been discontinued because scooping it was time-consuming and added to the wait time. But the soft-serve offerings more than make up for that.
Online ordering will be available soon. "It will be easier for people to make the best use of their lunch hour, because they can order ahead, pick up their food, and still have time to spare. No long wait!" Acerra said. The only menu item not available through online ordering is the soft serve.
For those with time to spare, there are now picnic tables on the grassy area -- a popular feature already -- with beautiful views of the beach and harborfront.
The restrooms are expected to open by next week following a water main break that has put them out of commission temporarily.
"We're looking forward to being open during the fireworks on July 1," Acerra said.
In addition to all the menu items mentioned above, the Beach House is also proud to have soft serve “pup cups” for dogs because they count, too!
