Meet Hingham Little League 12U Boys of Summer

They love baseball, pizza, Fortnite … and winning! They performed like professionals, polished and disciplined on the baseball field, as they worked their way through the Little League Williamsport, Sandwich Blast, Cooperstown All-Star tournaments and summer league play finishing an impressive 17-7-2. 

Now the boys of summer have returned home from Cooperstown, NY. The place Manager Marc Swirbalus calls “Disney World for baseball kids.”

“It was a great summer season to watch our 12 year old boys play with passion and confidence in every game,” said Swirbalus.

When they were out of uniform and off the ball diamond, they were just like most other boys their age. They laughed easily and often. They enjoyed playing video games… most especially Fortnite. They spent summer days swimming at South Shore Country Club pool, all had nicknames and favorite foods, including pizza, chicken fingers and chips. And, they were proud to be a boy in Hingham red and thankful for an amazing community that was so supportive of their efforts.      

These were thirteen boys who were exceptional baseball players and each one of them was different and unique in his own special way. But put them together on the baseball field and they were a magical group of youngsters working together as a team for the love and excitement of the game and the chance to become the best in the wold.

  

“The majority of this team have been playing baseball together since they were 8 years old and their development and commitment has shined in the summer of 2018,” added Swirbalus. “I am very proud of our Hingham ballplayers and the Town of Hingham should be very proud too!”
