Calls From Alert Residents Result in Two Arrests

Calls from alert residents resulted in the arrest of two people for stealing from numerous unlocked cars.

On December 31, 2023 at 10:16pm Officers were sent to HMS Fitzroy Dr. in the Hingham Shipyard after residents called to report seeing a man and a woman walking around parked cars pulling on the car door handles. The residents said one person, a woman wearing a surgical mask and gloves carrying a bag, got inside one of the unlocked cars. Before Officers arrived, the couple had walked away toward Fogg Way.

Officers found the couple on Fogg Way. After further investigation, Officers recovered numerous items from the couple that had been stolen from numerous unlocked cars in the area. Both were arrested. Officers found they had their car parked on Shipyard Dr. More items were found inside that are believed to have been stolen from other unlocked cars. The two arrested were:

Madison Rose Bolton, age 19, of Braintree, MA. She was charged with: Breaking & Entering to a Vehicle (2 counts), Receiving Stolen Property Under $1200 (5 counts), Receiving Stolen Property Over $1200 (2 counts), Attempt to Commit a Crime, Disturbing the Peace and Possession of a Class E Substance (2 counts).

Eric F. Martins, age 28, of Braintree, MA. He was charged with: Breaking & Entering to a Vehicle (2 counts), Receiving Stolen Property Under $1200 (5 counts), Receiving Stolen Property Over $1200 (2 counts), Attempt to Commit a Crime, Disturbing the Peace and Possession of a Class E Substance (1 count).

After booking both were released for their arraignment at Hingham District Court on January 2, 2024. ### Contact P.I.O. Lt. Steven Dearth.

  1. These people are garbage. The guy has a rap sheet a mile long. Same offenses, and worse. When are we going to wake up and put these people away.
