Younger than ever at 100 years of age, the South Shore Country Club (SSCC) continues its centennial celebration with a special evening at the Hingham Heritage Museum on September 22nd at 7pm. SSCC Board Members Murnie Leary and Frank Brown will moderate a conversation with the audience including 10th generation owner of the Hersey Farm, Peter Hersey, about the history of the Club. Learn about the evolution of the Club over time and the original land ties to the Hersey Family and Hingham buckets – inspiration for the Club’s iconic logo. Additional members of the Hingham community such as Ed Dann will share his mother Gail Cronin’s family ties to the South Shore Country Club’s original construction and financing. Special moments in golf history, such as when the Club hosted golfing greats Arnold Palmer and Gary Player in 1962, also will also be part of the conversation. Join us in the Museum ballroom after the conversation for light refreshments and a toast to 100 years of the South Shore Country Club. Ticket price includes commemorative program and refreshments. Buy tickets at the link below. Seating is limited.
