Christmas at the Dump

December 26, 2024 by Geri Duff

Frank Fuda and Frank Mello worked together for years. They started out the Hingham Highway Department at the Town’s Landfill in the 1960s. In those days all rubbish was dumped into a hole in the ground and covered with dirt. (Giving us today’s Mount Fuda.) Mello is standing on a black and white television and Fuda is standing next to a wooden radio as they hang empty plastic bottles on an old scrub pine tree to bring a little holiday cheer to the Dump. The photo is from the Charlie Cushing Collection at the Bare Cove Fire Museum.
