Clandestine Kitchen, LLC (CK), offering local home and corporate meal delivery, announced yesterday that, though meal delivery services are permitted in Massachusetts at this time, they are suspending operations until further communication in the best interest of staff, clients and the community.

Immediately following this announcement, CK contacted the local Hingham Food Pantry to determine how to best help increase inventory by donating dry goods, canned goods and products from the CK commercial kitchen in Duxbury, MA, that are not being used in light of this recent decision.  The Hingham Food Pantry is in need of donations, specifically canned fruit, tuna, pasta sauce and decaf coffee – though any and all non-perishable donations are welcome and appreciated at this time.

Courtney Doyle, CK owner, is a Hingham resident as are many of CK’s employees and clients.

“As a nutrition and wellness brand, we made the tough decision to temporarily close to help promote the safety, health and peace of mind for our staff, our clients and our community. If we can’t feed people during this time, we want to support those that can. Donating to the Hingham Food Pantry is the best way for us to channel our desire to continue to support our town while practicing, what we feel, is the socially responsible way to operate during this uncertain situation,” says Doyle.

CK also operates a wellness blog (www.clandestinekitchen.com) featuring editorial contributions from many local entrepreneurs and health professionals and has announced they will be increasing content and launching a new recipe subscription service in order to help inspire nutrition and wellness at home.

In addition, CK will also be featuring recipes from other local chef’s in an ongoing effort to help local residents stay connected to their favorite restaurants and food industry teams during the recent ban on restaurant in-house service due to the COVID-19 outbreak. This series will also feature ways loyal customers can continue to support local restaurants during this shift in normal operations.

Donations to the Hingham Interfaith Food Pantry can be made at the Hingham Stop & Shop drop box OR on the next Food Pantry drop off dates which are Monday 3/23 from 2:30-4:00 and Wednesday, 3/25 from 12:30-2:00.  Monetary donations can be made via check made out to Hingham Food Pantry and mailed to 685 Main St, HIngham.
