Coming up at Hingham Public Library: Planetarium Dome, Big Ryan’s Tall Tales, teen book group

Saturday Science: Planetarium Dome -- Saturday, Jan. 4. This month's Saturday Science program features scientist and astronaut Sally Ride in collaboration with the Paul Pratt Memorial Library in Cohasset. Show times, descriptions, and ages for each session are as follows:

10:30 a.m. - 11 a.m. -- Sesame Street, grades K-2

11 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. -- Unseen Universe, grades 3 and up

11:30 a.m. - noon -- Great Planet Adventures, grades 2 and up

Noon - 12:30 p.m. -- Sesame Street, grades K-2

12:30 p.m. - 1 p.m. -- Life in the Universe, grades 3 and up

1 p.m. - 1:40 p.m. -- Secret of the Cardboard Rocket, grades K-2

Space is limited and reservations are required. Register online or call the children's department at (781) 741-1405, ext 1403. This program will take place at the Paul Pratt Memorial Library in Cohasset.

The Discovery Dome Planetarium was arranged with ePlanetarium® and is jointly presented by the Saturday Science Moms, Hingham Public Library, and the Paul Pratt Memorial Library.

Raising a Reader with Big Ryan -- Tuesdays Jan.  7 through February 11, 4 to 5 p.m. Big Ryan's Tall Tales invites all parents and their children (ages 3 to 5) to participate in this six-week series on making stories and language come alive. This program is made possible by the South Shore Family Network. Register online or call the Children's Desk at (781) 741-1405, ext. 1403.

Teen Book Group – Saturday, Jan. 4 at 3:30 p.m. This month’s teen book group pick is “Her Royal Highness” by Rachel Hawkins. This group is open to all students ages 12 and up, and new members are always welcome. Copies of the book are available at the Children's Desk.  Delicious snacks will be served.
